Once upon a time children started each school day by pledging allegiance to the flag. Do they still? I confess that my holiday started with a rant about all that’s troublesome in the USA now. But griping changes nothing, so here’s something to do instead:

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Be safe, be well, be generous.
